The Night Parrot Recovery Team is aware of recent developments in which the veracity of information relating to several Night Parrot populations has been questioned. An independent review of the records is being undertaken, and following that review we will make a statement clarifying the known distribution and status of the bird. As it stands, we know with certainty that there is one population in the Diamantina National Park/Pullen Pullen Reserve area in western Queensland, one in the Wiluna district of central WA, and one in the Lake Gregory area of northern WA.
